About Joan Jett And The Blackhearts
Joan Jett is one of a kind, and largely viewed as the mother of rock n' roll as we know it. Her original band, The Runaways, rose to extreme fame back in the 70s, with a range of mega-hits to reach the top of the charts throughout their storied career. Now, she's back and better than ever, touring with an equally beloved band as Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. It is worth noting that the Blackhearts were formed all the way back in 1979, and that it has been the band Joan Jett has toured with the most over the past several decades. This is also the band that gave the world "I Love Rock 'N' Roll." Legendary? We sure think so.
Awards and Accolades
Joan Jett and the Blackhearts have put out countless albums over the years, yielding plenty of classic singles such as the cover of her first band's "Cherry Bomb," as well as "Bad Reputation". "I Love Rock 'N' Roll" is by far the biggest hit from this band, while they also have a wildly popular cover of Tommy James' "Crimson and Clover". Other major hits from the band include "I Hate Myself for Loving You," and "Backlash." Joan Jett and the Blackhearts were nominated for a Grammy upon releasing their "I Hate Myself for Loving You" back in 1989, and reached the top 100 in several charts for eight different songs between the early 80s and 1991. The band was also awarded the International Single of the Year at the Juno Awards in 1983 for "I Love Rock 'N' Roll", and an icon award at the 2014 Alternative Press Music Awards. And, of course, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2015.
Trend Setters
Although this band was undoubtedly a trend setter, the likes of which the world had not seen to that point, they certainly took a lot of lessons from the rock legends that had preceded them. More of an experimental and raw punk taste likely came from artists such as David Bowie, The Ramones and The Sex Pistols. However, good luck finding a band or musician that came before Joan Jett that had the same sound. Joan Jett and the Blackhearts have been touring for nearly 40 years, and have not been known to slack off on any show. Get cheap Joan Jett and the Blackhearts tickets if you don't want to get shut out of this memorable event. Joan Jett has been highly active as of late, and recently signed on for a Discovery Channel project with Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler to narrate a six-part series. Joan Jett and the Blackhearts have also not toured in a while, and should be fresh to deliver a truly incredible tour. This is a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band, and no one should miss a chance to see them in their local area. Purchase tickets soon to see Joan Jett and the Blackhearts!
