From a musical family to the world stage
Born in Alabama, Jason Isbell picked up music from his family. Surrounded by bluegrass, gospel, and country, it was no surprise that Jason Isbell started a band when he was just a teenager. His next two albums were released as Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, their single "Alabama Pines" securing the Americana Music Awards Song of the Year in 2012. Jason Isbell has continued to make waves in the music industry, and his fourth solo album raked in several American Music Awards and garnered him the title Artist of the Year. Something More than Free was released in 2015, earning Jason Isbell two Grammy Awards.
