A Texan alt-rock band blossoms into international stardom
Started in 2002 as Passerby, the band spent a lot of time developing their unique sound, experimenting with pedals and fusing different genres. They performed relentlessly on the local Texas scene. After being signed by Octone Records in 2004, the band renamed themselves Flyleaf and recorded a debut EP. They went on tour with Skillet, Staind, and 3 Doors Down to drum up a national fan base. The following year they released their debut album, which hit platinum and secured Flyleaf's status in modern rock. While the band members are personally grounded in their Christian faith, singles like "I'm So Sick," "Missing," and "All Around Me" went on to make Flyleaf a mainstream success. In 2012 lead vocalist Lacey Strum departed the band and was replaced by Kristen May, who performed with the band for four years.
