The son of a star becomes a star in his own right
Born in Los Angeles, Dweezil is the son of famous musician Frank Zappa. Dweezil had the unique opportunity to be mentored by some of the greatest musical minds of the era, including Steve Vai and Eddie Van Halen. Starting his professional career at a young age, Dweezil Zappa released his debut single at just twelve years old, though it wasn't until 1986 that his first album hit the stores. Dweezil Zappa has had an extensive and varied career, including everything from solo albums to television and film work to his 75-minute experimental guitar project, "What the Hell Was I Thinking?" Dweezil Zappa has performed with Fat Boys on "Wipe Out" and 'Weird Al' Yankovic on "Genius in France." In 2006 Dweezil Zappa organized the Zappa Plays Zappa tour, a tribute band that performs the music of his late father, Frank Zappa.
