A national, satirical treasure
Growing up in Raleigh, North Carolina, as one of six children and a boy struggling with his identity in a small town, David Sedaris's childhood was a goldmine of future comedy material. While Sedaris frequently forayed into art, it wasn't until he met This American Life's host Ira Glass that his career as a writer and comedian took off. He first started in radio, reading his autobiographical essays, which led to his first book being published in 1994. David Sedaris became famous for his satirical wit, with his ability to take personal observations and experiences and turn them into tools to upend sociocultural norms unparalleled. He has published several books of personal essays, including the wildly popular Holidays on Ice and the New York Times bestseller Let's Explore Diabetes with Owls. He is frequently featured on the radio, making appearances on BBC4 and NPR, and he has been nominated for three Grammy Awards.
With a new book out in 2018 and another forthcoming in 2019, David Sedaris shows frequently sell out. Make sure you have a spot at the venue by picking up your cheap David Sedaris tickets here!
