A rock story of talent and passion
Born in Pennsylvania outside of Pittsburgh, Bret Michaels picked up the guitar as a teenager. He started a band with other like-minded musicians, touring the local circuit. In 1984 the band relocated to Los Angeles and reimagined themselves as Poison. Their increasing popularity led to a record contract and the release of their debut album. Look What the Cat Dragged In exploded in popularity with the music video of "Talk Dirty to Me." Now glam rock superstars, Poison continued to release chart-topping singles like "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" and "Something to Believe In." However, the pressures of fame and an excess of partying made tensions within the band rise. In 1998 Michaels unleashed A Letter from Death Row, launching his solo career in addition to his role as Poison's lead man. He's released popular singles like "All I Ever Needed" and "Nothing to Lose" with Miley Cyrus.
