About A Christmas Carol
Broadway legend Alen Menken's musical adaptation of the classic holiday-themed short novel by Charles Dickens has a pedigree that speaks for itself. The show ran every year in New York City's own Madison Square Garden for nearly a decade, and has since gone on to inspire productions across the globe, including a made-for-television version starring Kelsey Grammer and Jason Alexander. The musical, like Dickens' novella, follows the story of pitiful miser and hater of Christmas Ebenezer Scrooge. Scrooge despises everything about the holidays and detests everyone who engages in what he considers to be useless, freeloading frivolity. That is, until three spirits visit him one fateful Christmas Eve and remind him not only of the true meaning of Christmas but also of his innocent and optimistic past. It's a fantastic story buoyed by a truly Dickensian cast of unique characters. This classic tale has inspired generations of audiences, and various productions of the musical have included some of the finest actors alive, including Frank Langella, Tim Curry, Tony Roberts and even Roger Daltrey. Don't wait until the Ghost of Christmas Past chides you for your procrastination- buy your tickets to see Dickens' classic work come to life on the stage.
