A Constant Contender
The New England Revolution was one of Major League Soccer's charter teams, drawing many players from the U.S. Men's National Team for that first season. Throughout the early years, the Revolution struggled to establish itself in the league, though fan support was unfailing. In the early 2000s the team began to see results. In 2000 they final made their second appearance in the playoffs, and in 2001 they competed in the U.S. Open Cup final, falling to the Los Angeles Galaxy. With Coach Steve Nicol of Liverpool, the team became a frequent competitor in the playoffs. The Revolution made a bid for the MLS Cup three times in a row between 2005 and 2007, but they were unable to claim the championship title. However 2007 held a bright spot for the team when they won the U.S. Open Cup in a victory over FC Dallas. While New England has had its share of ups and downs since then, the club has experienced a recent reversal of fortunes with a bid for the 2014 MLS Cup. While the Revolution still failed to capture the Cup, hope has been revived.
Fans are eager to take their spot in the bleachers, convinced that the long awaited MLS Cup will soon belong to New England. Be there to support the team on towards the championship title by getting your cheap New England Revolution tickets today!
