The Cardinals are the oldest professional football franchise in the country, having begun as the Morgan Athletic Club in Chicago in 1898. They played as the Chicago Cardinals from 1920 until the team moved to St. Louis in 1960. The team relocated again in 1988, this time to the Phoenix area.
