About Boyz II Men

Boyz II Men got their start originally as Unique Attraction in 1985 when classmates Nathan Morris and Marc Nelson formed the band with George Baldi, Jon Shoats, and Marguerite Walker. The band began to practice in the bathrooms of their high school, as well as any other local hangout that would give them impressive acoustic sounds. After changing their name to Boyz II Men, the group snuck backstage at a New Edition concert. They sang for member Michael Bivins who was instantly impressed with the group and promised to help manage them. Personality conflicts over the years caused there to be a break in the original members of the band, Michael McCary, Nathan Morris, Wanya Morris, and Shawn Stockman were the members of the group that led the band to international fame. In 1991 Boyz II Men released their first album Cooleyhighharmony, catapulting them to the spotlight winning them a Grammy Award. Throughout their career they released several more hit singles including “End of the Road”, “I’ll Make Love to You”, and “One Sweet Day” with Mariah Carey. Today the group tours as a trio and is considered one of the best R&B groups of their time.
