We were pleasantly surprised at how "homey" the place was, considering it's a national corporate chain. (We generally try to stay at more boutique/locally owned places, but this was an impromptu trip and their rates were great for us.) You walk in the door and it has a very lodge-y feel, which fit right in with the Wisconsin Dells aura. The service at the desk was exceptionally helpful and courteous. The room itself once again had a North woods feel, but was in need of some minor updating. Some of the floor tiles in the bathroom were a bit out of joint and there was some paint that was beginning to peel a tiny bit, and one of the boards on the deck is in the early stages of rot (we stayed in room 322, so if management reads this, you should be aware!), but these are very minor complaints that could easily be addressed or overlooked by a less scrupulous eye. But with a beautiful wooded back lot (we had a great view with a private deck) and a generous pool area which was perfect for our little one, it was exactly what we were looking for. And they have a partnership with the Chula Vista resort, which affords you access to a bigger water-park resort if that's what you're looking for. We would gladly stay again, despite the tiny imperfections. And in a place like the Dells, you really never know what you're going to get.
