The Space:
Welcome to your Mt. Hood cabin-and-Airstream stay, with vintage log-cabin character, a private-to-you hot tub, and easy access to hiking, skiing, groceries, and restaurants. The setting is wooded, but it is in a neighborhood near other homes and highway access rather than a remote or secluded property.

• Lofted primary sleeping area with king bed and half bath
• Adjacent queen sleeping nook separated by a sliding barn door; this is not a fully private enclosed bedroom

Included Airstream
• Separate from the main cabin and closest to the house
• Queen bed sleeping lounge

• Propane furnace can be temperamental; message us if it shows an error or does not heat

• Private-to-you year-round hot tub on the cabin deck
• Propane grill for cookouts
• Yard is not fenced, so pets and children should be supervised outside
• Nearby homes/highway access can be noticeable outside; this is a wooded neighborhood setting, not an isolated forest retreat
Current property update: a December 2025 storm caused visible damage to part of the roofline, front porch, and railing. Repairs are in progress. The interior and exterior are fully safe, but the visible damage is noticeable.

The main cabin and included Airstream are yours - no shared interior spaces with other guests.

The Neighborhood:
The Welches community in Oregon is located between the Sandy and Salmon Rivers, making it a recreational paradise for outdoor enthusiasts. The area offers a wide range of activities including skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, mountain biking, kayaking, fishing, and golfing.
One of the popular bike routes is the Old Salmon River Trail, a scenic course for all levels of riders. Hikers can also enjoy a moderate workout on the trail. In the summer, the trail is a popular spot for swimming in the river. Golfers can enjoy a challenging round at the Resort at the Mountain, which features three nine-hole courses: Pine Cone, Foxglove, and Thistle. The courses offer stunning views of the surrounding scenery.

Getting Around:
🚶 Walking — This mountain retreat is nestled in the Mt. Hood area, surrounded by nature. While not a walkable urban setting, the peaceful surroundings and outdoor recreation more than make up for it.
🚗 Driving — A car is recommended for getting around. The area is well connected via US-26. Free parking at the property.
🏔️ Recreation — Minutes from Mt. Hood ski resorts, hiking trails, and the Sandy River. The charming town of Sandy is a short drive for groceries, dining, and supplies.
✈️ Airport — PDX is approximately 60–75 minutes by car via US-26 West.

This is a wooded cabin-and-Airstream stay near Welches/Mt. Hood, with nearby homes and highway access rather than full seclusion. You may notice neighbors or road proximity outside.
👉 Layout note
This listing includes the main cabin plus the Airstream closest to the cabin. One sleeping area and one bathroom are in the Airstream, separate from the main cabin. Inside the cabin, one queen sleeping nook is adjacent to the lofted primary sleeping area and separated by a sliding barn door, so it is not a fully private enclosed bedroom. Additional Airstreams/ADU spaces are not included unless arranged separately.
🔧 Current Property Update

❄️ Airstream Heat Note
The Airstream propane furnace can be temperamental and may show an E7/no-heat error, especially after running. If that happens, or if the propane seems empty, please message us so maintenance can help.
🐾 Pet-Friendly Space
We welcome pets! Our cleaning team deep cleans between every stay, though we can't guarantee 100% dander-free for allergy-sensitive guests. Yard is not fenced — please supervise pets and children at all times.

6-guest maximum — strictly enforced, no exceptions. No parties or events. Parking limited to 4 vehicles (fire lane safety regulation).

We're available by message anytime and typically respond within minutes. We're local to Portland and happy to help with anything - from restaurant recommendations to a quick answer at midnight when you can't find something. We keep a hands-off approach unless you need us, and when you do, we're right there.
