So many problems and not enough time and space. Room was dingy and dirty. Bed was uncomfortable mess. No fridge or microwave in the room. No vending machines. Couldn’t find ice machine. Staff was absolutely terrible and unhelpful. Could hear every noise from talking outside to flushing toilets all the way down the hall. Extra fees for everything including a “resort tax” which is garbage because this place was worse than a La Quinta. They threatened to have my dog removed for barking even though we were back at the hotel four times during the day to check on him and he was asleep in his bed. Later realized people down the hall were hanging out in the hallway yelling and laughing and getting the dog riled up. Told staff and they didn’t care. This was the first time in 41 years a hotel has actually stressed me out. Couldn’t wait to leave. Wouldn’t go back if they paid me to.

UNCOOPERATIVE STAFF / NEVER USE AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!

The front desk staff on arrival was uncooperative and dismissive. We arrived in a Ford F-150 which does not fit in the valet parking. This was not indicated on the website or when I called prior to the trip. We were not provided with parking options until my husband became irate and indicated that we would have to cancel our trip and return back home!! There should be options clearly available in these situations for out of town travelers who are not aware of this issue. When we returned in the evening after an exhausting day, We were not given the type of room we booked. In addition, our room which was booked for 4 people only had towels for 1 person. I went down to the front desk to ask for more towels and 30 minutes later was still waiting and had to call downstairs once again. WOULD NEVER RETURN HERE OR RECOMMEND TO ANYONE!!!!!!!!!!!

Bellmen were fabulous and the location is great. Front desk staff were NOT friendly or helpful. Extra charges for resort fees, including water that’s labeled as $4 but free apparently (we were not told that!) and the wifi is terrible!! Building is old and not kept up to date. Fairly comfortable bed and easy cab ride to most places. Bellmen were very helpful and would be better off running the hotel I think!

Not a good visit

I’ve stayed here several times for work and this was by far the worst stay. Previous visits were fine, with the hotel feeling a bit on the tired side, but nothing too bad. This trip: the air conditioning in my room didn’t work either of my nights (they sent someone to fix it the first night, and I was able to fix it the second night) and the front desk staff could not have looked less interested when I told them that upon check out and also told them it was not a good stay. My room didn’t feel very clean, the bathroom was missing some items and overall I didn’t get the sense people cared. A few colleagues confirmed they had similar experiences. On my previous visit I had very indifferent, verging on unfriendly, service upon check in. I shrugged that off but the cumulative effect of that plus this recent trip is to make me not want to stay here again. So if i have another option for my next work trip to DC, I wouldn’t stay here.

The AC was broken. Management said it wasn’t really needed in area. No real amenities. They have the classic hotel over priced restaurant. Room had ant close to bed and windows. Windows leaked with rain. Tv in closet. Hard to watch. They did have good bedding and fluffy pillows. Again management said this was normal for an historical hotel. I didn’t see much history. Location is good those. Very busy.
