I know this isn’t a “nice” motel so my expectations were not high of course, and I’ve stated many times in the past pre covid for easy access to Mt creek. Today I needed one night, and the room given had so many visible hairs on the bed, pulled back the sheets and it’s beyond obvious there is dirt and hair all over both beds. I told the owner (barely speaks English) and he showed me another room, we looked together and when I pointed out the sheets were clearly filthy on that one too, he was agitated and told me to change hotels. I asked him to change the sheets and he said no, so then we changed hotels. This place is absolutely disgusting. It was bad before, and it’s bad and worst now. Yikes.

It's a very pleasant, comfortable place to stay with very nice inn keepers. The rooms are very clean and spacious. The views around the motel are beautiful...and you are very close to wonderful hiking trails and ski resorts.

Everything was dirty. Bed sheets, comforters, bathroom and even the towels. The beds were the worst, visible stains. My buddy had a bug in his bed...which made us rip apart the entire bed and make sure we were in the clear. Owners were nice, but man this place is dirty. Only good thing was the shower water pressure and the AC/Heat worked good lol.

The room was spotless and I have all the space I need to be extremely comfortable. The host and hostess have gone out of their way to make me comfortable. The motel is surrounded by gorgeous views of the mountains and there are shops nearby for anything anyone might need. The motel is a wonderful place to stay and rest. I highly recommend the Appalachian Motel. Definitely a 5 star experience.

It was conveniently situated motel and had all I need. I would probably stay again. Bathroom products (shampoo/conditioners) not in adequate quantities, bring your own. The same for coffee: large coffee pot for one tiny coffee baggie. The driveway to the motel was very dangerous to access or leave.

Speedy check-in. Calm and quiet environment. Beautiful views. Heating worked great, bathroom amenities were plentiful. Place was very, very clean. Staff was very kind and accommodating showing us around.

My standards were low. Somehow they still missed. I arrived to checkin and you can’t enter the lobby. It’s unclear if you’re supposed to buzz or pickup the phone (ew) that’s outside, so I did both. Eventually someone came and let me in, and the rate was different from my confirmation. Blank stares from the attendant. Eventually I pay for the room and he hands me the key. I turn around to go to my room, and the attendant followed me - a solo female traveler - to my room. Proceeds to tell me not to touch the AC. I’m assuming that’s what he said anyway. There seemed to be a language barrier, he pointed to it (from inside my room) and said “75”. So I’m not supposed to touch the thermostat in a room I’m paying for? In terms of comfort, the bed was the equivalent of a thin foam pad over plywood. I pulled back the covers and see black curly hairs embedded in the stained sheets. Went and got my own bedding from my car because that’s gross and implies they didn’t change the sheets let alone wash them. But I’m already checked in and racing in the morning and don’t have time to figure something else out. The microwave buttons were covered in greasy fingerprints and the room felt damp to the point I didn’t want to take my socks and shoes off. I passed on the shower. Slept and packed up and out by 5:15AM Perks - under 15 minutes to my race. Parking a non issue. It had a bed, a working bathroom, and a door with a lock. I guess it had a microwave (I didn’t open it) and a mini-fridge.

Do not book this motel! if you did, good luck dealing with the front desk. I called to see if there’s any room availability and I was told check online and hung up on me. The bed sheets are dirty, and I woke up scratching my whole body, water takes a lot of time before it gets warm. AC turns on/off even if it’s not on auto. I was charged extra even though i booked a 2 beds and it sleeps 4. On top of that, it took me 20 minutes before checking in because there was no one in the front.
