We love Hotel Blu. The cheerful staff are so very helpful. Breakfast was a la carte but we enjoyed sharing the scrumptious avocado toast. The location is perfect for walking up the shopping street Robson or heading on Cambie Rd to the historic Gastown!

I travel frequently and have stayed at many hotels, so I can easily recognize quality when I see it, and unfortunately, Hotel Blu did not meet expectations. I returned to the hotel late night/early morning on October 18, 2025, and asked the front desk for a late checkout. Instead of showing any concern for guest satisfaction, the receptionist immediately refused, citing the UFC and a soccer game as excuses. There was no effort to accommodate my request or even show basic courtesy. Additionally, the property’s pictures and advertised rates online are misleading. What I saw in person did not reflect the quality or comfort promised online. For nearly $1,000 spent for Thursday and Friday nights, I expected far better service, professionalism, and overall experience. Very disappointing and unacceptable for a hotel that claims to be upscale. I won’t be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend it to frequent travelers who value hospitality and honesty.
