The room water was hot; the AC worked well; staff was courteous. Otherwise, the stay was mediocre. The staff said that the jungle side rooms in which we stayed were just purchase three weeks before. These need work. The lighting at the sink was insanely terrible. There were literally NO towel hooks or bars; no place to put your clothes or suitcase other than on the floor. There were 5 hangars on a wooden bar. When it rained, the water came in under the door and around the windows. The food at the beach was bad at breakfast; good at lunch. There were NO chairs around the pool. The beach chaises and beds were $1,000 pesos for the day. They applied this to you food and drink bill like every beach club but not every hotel. It would have been nice not to have to pay to use a chaise at a beach hotel at which one stays. Cleaning crew forgot to clean our room a couple of times even though we specifically saw them on those days and asked for the cleaning.

We had a good experience with our stay. We had issues with having no hot water but they addressed the issues effectively. They use salt water so they provided us with clean drinking water to brush our teeth, and enough to wash the bottles for our baby. It’s loud at night, you can hear the music at the place next to it. Other than that our bed was clean and comfortable, room AC is nice and cold. Having access to the beach was nice.

The room conditions were not great. The walls are very thin and there is a lot of outside noise. There are gaps between the windows and walls so mosquitoes and other bugs get into the room. Additionally, the shower and sink only have salt water which was very inconvenient. The jungle side of the property is in rough condition and not very clean.

Room with a view.

Great hotel on the sea. Amazing when the raccoons came to visit for dinner, highlight of the day!

Beach does get a lot of seaweed at certain times of the year.

The rooms were nice and clean. Everyday there was fresh water after room cleaning. We came at a bad time so the beach was nasty. The sink and shower water are salty so be careful with that. The staff was great the pool was nice and it was a good stay overall

Séjour extraordinaire entre amies!

Nous étions 6 filles dans la suite présidentielle. Nous étions très bien! Les lits sur le bord de la plage sont confortables et ils ont tous un toit pour se protéger du soleil. Le personnel est très sympathique. L’air climatisée était silencieuse et efficace. L’hôtel est à proximité de restaurant et à proximité raisonnable du centre-ville de Tulum en taxi. C’est dog friendly :) Le seul point négatif était la puissance du jet de la douche et le manque d’eau chaude parfois. La vue est incroyable! Pour des prix plus raisonnables, je vous conseille d’aller manger et boire au centre-ville.

Unfortunately, My 1st Negative Review ever !!

I normally understand when things go wrong and I’m quick to accept apologies, but this experience left me no choice — this is my first-ever negative review. We stayed for 6 nights and had multiple issues. The oceanfront infinity pool — one of the main reasons we booked — was out of order the entire time. Every day, the manager said, “It will be ready tomorrow,” but it never was. Same excuse for five days. To make things worse, the room next to ours was being renovated. Every morning at 9am, we were woken by loud drilling and hammering. It was impossible to rest. After reporting our concerns and trying to move to another hotel, the manager apologized and offered free breakfast and a 10% refund, which I accepted. That was four weeks ago. Despite following up almost daily, I still haven’t received the refund — just the same vague reply: “The owner will do the refund soon.” Worth to mentioned, the manager’s Golden Retriever (a sweet dog) was constantly walking through chairs, umbrellas, and breakfast tables. It didn’t bother us, but it might bother others. Maybe by now the renovations are done and the pool is fixed. But with so many great options in Tulum, I’d absolutely avoid this hotel and book elsewhere.

We loved our first visit to Tulum!

We loved our stay at Alquimia and highly recommend it! The staff were so welcoming and attentive and gave us great recommendations. The room was beautiful and kept clean/stocked daily. Our room was steps away from the pool and beautiful beach - it was so easy to get to the cabanas and relax! We also saw wonderful views from the rooftop. The hotel was super close (walking distance) to a pharmacy, grocery store, and many different restaurants, so we felt so connected to everything. It was easy to take a taxi into Tulum Centro, and the staff helped us navigate how to take the colectivos, as well. The only small issue we had was with the WiFi not working, but the staff fixed it promptly! Again, we highly recommend Alquimia and hope to return!

Very nice location right on the beach toward the south end of the hotel zone. Very friendly and helpful staff, at the front desk and at the beach. The shaded beach beds under the palm trees are wonderful! Very good food and drinks, but a little expensive. I stayed for 5 days with my 14-year-old son. Our room was nice and clean and had AC that we only used at night to save energúmeno. Not super big room, but I took the cheapest one I could find. Perfec
