Southwest-facing and sitting right on the water with a sandy bottom, this A-frame chalet catches the sunset light in a way that's hard to describe until you're standing in it. It's the cozy, unfussy "Up North" that Michigan is known for — a stone fireplace, walls of windows, and Lake Leelanau right outside the door.

The chalet sleeps up to 8 across two queen guest bedrooms and a loft with a double and single bunk bed, with two full bathrooms, vaulted ceilings, and an open living space anchored by a natural stone fireplace.

The sandy-bottom shoreline invites swimming, paddleboarding, and kayaking all summer, while a private well, septic system, and turnkey furnishings keep the property STR-ready year-round.

It's just 13 miles from downtown Traverse City, surrounded by wine trail tasting rooms, the quaint Fish Town at Leland, and scenic drives along Lake Leelanau.

From sunset dinners on the water to cozy winter evenings by the fire, this A-frame offers authentic Up North elegance and an effortless lakeside lifestyle. Let THE TRUE NORTH craft your perfect getaway — or your next investment opportunity.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy
The living area of the house is very nice, with wooden paneled walls and floors. Also, large windows providing a gorgeous view of the crystal clear lake with sandy bottom that you can walk out for a hundred yards or so. The bed was very comfortable. We truly enjoyed our stay here and would recommend to others. Our dog loved it, too- yard is perfect for fetching! A few maintenance items would really make it shine: paint kitchen cupboards and replace broken/missing cabinet pulls, if not gutted with new cabinetry and countertops; same for the bathroom. Provide regular lawn service, making certain it’s mowed and edged for guests upon arrival.

The place is awful and neglected. There are limited basic amenities, if you need a beach towel, they suggest you go buy some (they'll charge you if you stain their bath towels), need to do a load of laundry, no soap here, missing basic kitchen utensils and had four hangars for the three bedrooms. If you want a fire outside you can clean out the fire pit that is full of old wet wood and coals. If you want a chair to sit out, you are out of luck three of the four Adirondack chairs are broken. Be careful walking out to the water, dodge the dog droppings through the overgrown lawn. The worst is the hot water tank is off so it reeks of sulphur whenever hot water is used. The place is severely outdated with stained sinks and a toilet that only flushes if you hold it down throughout the flush. This place is set up for non discerning large groups and not for families. So many things were a problem that we couldn't call without being a problem tenant despite paying over 1,300 a night for eight days. The management company did reach out to offer us a one hour late checkout for an insulting high fee of 613 and 123 if we wanted to check in an hour early. The location was great and on a nice beach.
