Compare Hotels with Kitchenettes in Talkeetna

"Pros: pet friendly. However, after a long day of driving I REALLY wanted a hot shower but this is a completely dry cabin which is fine, but it doesn’t say in the listing whether or not there is a shower so I guess I should have assumed not. Couldn’t figure out how to bring the ladder down to sleep upstairs (was fastened with a chain that could not be undone) and went to message the owner but the WiFi from the hosts cabin (right across from the rental) did not reach my cabin. Ended up sleeping on the couch which wasn’t very comfortable. The blanket and pillow provided downstairs were dirty and had hair on them. They also didn’t smell clean like detergent, etc. Walked my dog on the main road and stepped in dog poop within the first 5 min of the walk. Multiple melting rainy/snow piles of mushy poop everywhere that’s been left behind from the neighborhood I’m guessing. Thankfully its breakup so I found a melted puddle to clean off my boot. Area was quiet but not much privacy from the location/view of the cabin. Ended up leaving at 3am to continue my trip because I couldn’t sleep. Stay itself was just “okay” but for the reasons listed above would not stay here again."

"We had a lovely week and would book again in the future. The location was very cozy and quiet, and in proximity to the trails at X,Y, and Z lakes. The kitchen was well-equipped, having the laundry on-site was great, and we absolutely enjoyed the Sauna! "

"It's a room above a bar so it comes with all that is expected. And a little pricey considering the shared bathroom. But honestly a great time. If a good old fashioned adventure is what you're after, this is the place to be. Close to everything donwtown. Just be aware, it is what it says on the tin....but the earplugs do help a LOT if you want to sleep before the bar closes. "
