Property is dirty, spider webs on all guard rails, porch looks like no one cleaned anything for years, outdoor carpet rotted chairs full of spider webs and the beach sand by the hotel had garbage and debris. stairwell full of spider webs. Room was average but clean, lamp did not work next to bed and patio door was very hard to open.

Not what we expected

The computers were not working correctly. They double billed me. The hotel is well used and shows it. Need some serous maintenance and upgrades.floor is soft and spongy, holes in walls. Granola bars and water for continental breakfast. Room was clean and staff friendly. Its a bed and shower but not much more.

There was no complimentary breakfast, only brownies oatmeal bar. The windows looked old, beddx to replaced. The floor lamps covers are broken, jusf hanging there. The tv is too small to watch while i was leaning against the bed wall. It needs a bigger tv in the bedroom. Im not coming back to this hotel.

Mediocre hotel

The room was mediocre at best. It was not really clean. It was dusted down, clean bed sheets, and clean towels. The floor in room and bathroom weren't that clean. I could still feel a grittiness on the floor possibly from sand, which is understandable because it is beachfront. The hot tub in the room worked so so. The jets weren't very powerful but it was a big tub at the least. The balcony was filled with spider webs and spiders, it looked as if they never dust the webs off. Overall we only went there to sleep and spend time on the balcony watching the lake and the nightfall. It is a good location if you pick the beachfront room, the large price is due to the view and hot tub. I'm not sure that was worth it but live and learn.

Our room has a D humidifier that was full upon walking in to our room. Our room was so muggy and moldy smelling because the bin had been full for along time. I emptied it and the bucket was full of mold. The jacuzzi tub has a big crack along the bottom and fixed very janky. The tiny refrigerator we have in the room is one big ice chunk and making all kinds of strange noises. Honestly pretty crappy room for the price we paid.

The room was very bad. There was mosquitoes and spiders on the wall. The bathroom door was broken can’t lock it. The positive thing about the hotel was the reception lady was very nice, polite, and professional. If I go back probably won’t stay there. Would be different hotel.

disgusted with super 8, i won't even consider a super 8 property again. this site closed my mind to even looking at them again. dirty room, tv didn't work, holes in the walls, molding loose, a sitting table with two unmatched chairs looked like they were from some garage sale. i've never seen this before, when i got in bed i kind of laughed, i thought about the bed being short sheeted like a joke. my mistake, i've never seen anything like this, who ever made the bed , instead of making the bed they way it should be, it was wrapped sideways around the bed....Mackinac City, if it's the last available room, go by a tent and stay at a Michigan state park for the night, your experience will be so much better.

Love the location literally on the sandy beach. Our had laminated flooring which was nice until kids brought sand in. Room had some improvements floor and bedding but around tub seal was coming off a little dirty. I would stay again because of location but you get what you pay for

The only thing good was the water veiw and the tv channels, it was dirty, cobwebs and bugs on the ceiling, floor was dusty and sand everywhere, cualking around the tub was dirty and moldy, wall paper was coming off in several places, we were booked for four nights but could only take the filth for three, would have been nice if they offered a refund for the uncleanliness

Terrible. Wanted to leave but no refund offered

Rooms are very deteriorated, bugs, smelled, tv didn’t work, woke in the morning to water on the floor (rained overnight and came in through patio doors), cobwebs hanging from ceiling in corners, and light fixture must have a short as it flickered off and on. After checking in and saw the first room they wanted to give us I asked for a refund and they refused. They gave us a different room which wasn't much better except it didn’t smell as bad. I actually talked to the Manager and he was rude and condescending. Said the first room has been newly renovated. Absolute lie. Pictures dont really show how dirty it was.

For the price this hotel worked just fine. It is in need of updates, but as I just stated the price reflects what you get. I was pleased with the access to the beach and all the shopping/dining in the area. Once we parked we didn't have to drive anywhere else until our final day. Staff on the property were kind and ready to help us if needed.
