My wife and I really loved our recent stay at Carlton House. At check in we were greeted by the owner Martin. He was friendly, welcoming and explained everything we need to know about the facility. Our one bedroom unit was clean, updated and well equipped. If you're looking for a quaint beach Motel style place to stay on Saint Pete beach, Carlton House is the place for you. The were renovating the office and no sign to tell me where to check in. Finally someone pointed me to one of the actual rooms. It’s old school, they use keys. The lady that worked there was a little hard to understand, did not even ask me for ID, just had me fill out a card. The room was like a one bedroom apt. Room could use an update. When checking out, there was no one to be found. I just left the key on the table as I found it, and sent an email to the property thru hotels.com

Very safe area. Easy 2 block walk to a beautiful beach with amazing sunsets. Two good restaurants with live music and great food in easy walking distance. Still a lot of damage in the area from Hurricane Milton in 2024. The property is comfortable and mostly functional, including the pool.

Property was lovely with pool, no car needed as hoped. About $45 from tampa airport in lyft and $30 to PIE airport. About 3 blocks from beach access where food, bathroom, and shower available. You can purchase chair $10 & umbrella $45 on upham beach. Walgreens and gas station is a good walk about $7 lyft to beach. Enterprise car rental near Walgreens open only weekdays about $100 for 24 hrs. Waffle house, Bouy's Brunch restaurant, Smoking Monkey Restaurant & Live music, and 82 Degrees Bar/The Saints Stay were all walking distance. Would love to return.

Location was great. Due to weather, we wanted to come a day early & it was no problem. This was during the off season, but they were very accommodating.
