Best time to take a vacation to South America

The further south you go, the colder it gets. February to April are the best months to visit the Galapagos. Visit Amazonia during June to October, the drier months. South America travel is possible all year, however. If you can bare it a bit colder, Machu Picchu and the Inca Trail are less crowded during April and May. Patagonia and the high Plains of Bolivia are best visited in the Late spring, summer and early fall. Carnaval, which is held in February, is the entire continent's festival.
