"The location was very clean and modern with a friendly staff. The beds and bed pillows were very mushy. There was plenty of lighting in the room but it was all too harsh and in your face. We were there two nights and we didn't get any maid service or clean towels after our first night there. We would stay there again but there are definitely things to improve on."

"Staff is always great (Monique is a gem!), hotel is clean and close to food and shopping options. We have stayed there twice now and would definitely recommend it to anyone staying in Harrisonburg. Close to JMU so it's a great place for parents visiting their kids. Definitely top tier."

"We have visited The Great Escape many times over the past 10-12 years. We have always appreciated the well-stocked kitchen, the hot tub, the washer-dryer, the comfortable beds, and the fenced in yard. We love the location with easy access to not only Shenandoah National Park, but also the lovely George Washington National Forest. Don and Lina have always been excellent hosts, making sure the cabin is in perfect condition for us upon our arrival and providing us with all of the information we need. The Great Escape has been a perfect get away for us, including our dog."

"The location was very nice for getting to all the local attractions. The loft bedrooms were nice and the owner was made aware of the need to change out the electrical outlets so that phone chargers and the like would stay plugged in. Simple fix. Also, if you plan to do any cooking make sure you bring simple supplies with you like paper towels, cooking oil, and garbage bags. It was a nice quiet location right across from the river."
