The room needs a major refurbishing, frames of the pictures are broken, light fixtures are rusty, lots of other broken or rusty spots. Service is slow, comes in at 5-6 p.m. to service the room when everyone is back from the beach/pool and get ready for dinner. Staff is relatively polite. Happy hour is great! Pool water is VERY cold. Breakfast included is a nice feature.

We checked into Embassy Suites by Hilton Dorado del Mar Beach Resort for a one-night stay before flying out of San Juan the next day, choosing the location for convenience. Unfortunately, the experience started off on the wrong foot. As we pulled up to the front entrance, we expected a valet or door attendant to greet us and assist with luggage. Instead, the valet glanced at us and continued his conversation with a co-worker. We unloaded our luggage ourselves, and I ultimately had to interrupt the conversation to ask him to take my vehicle. Check-in itself was smooth since we arrived late and the lobby was quiet. However, for the rate we were paying, the room was disappointing. It felt dark even with all the lights on and appeared very dated—especially the bathroom, which is clearly in need of renovation. The room was clean, which we appreciated, but the overall condition did not justify the price. The lobby area is attractive, but as we walked the grounds, the pool and lounging areas seemed worn and somewhat neglected. For what we paid, we expected more. If we return to Dorado, we will likely explore other accommodations, as this stay did not leave us wanting to come back.

It was nice, I guess I set my expectations too high. Stayed in dorado beach before and it was a much different experience. Close to town but not a walkable area. Great room, view and deck. Staff was great. Drink to lets were a nice surprise but we didn’t use them.

The location turned out to be isolated. There was not good food options nearby and the in house food was not great. Lunch at the outdoor bar was fine. Dinner inside was average at best.

Excellent stay, staff was great! The ocean was beautiful. Make sure to bring water shoes if your going into the ocean. Overall me and my husband had a blast! Great way spend a honeymoon!

Great hospitality, awesome property, excellent ocean view room. I wouldn't think twice to visit again. We had loads of fun in pool, beach, Super Bowl event and lot more. They could certainly improve on food options as there weren't much vegetarian options.

Rooms were clean and well maintained. Breakfast and Happy hour was very good as well. Staff were very friendly and professional. We had a nice, restful stay ... it's a little far out, so Uber/Lyft can add up to be a bit expensive. If you're comfortable renting a car, that may be more economical.
