This is in or near tenderloin district. Lots of chaos surrounding and does not feel the safest. The rooms are spacious for more beds but no ac and you can hear everything outside. We checked out same day we checked in. Staff was very kind and it was clean.

The staff was superfriendly and very helpful, they really made an extra step always for their guests. The hotel itself is so beautiful and has a very old and interesting history (family owned), to walk around in this hotel and reading and seeing all the details and art is a sightseeing tour by itself already. The location is great as it is close to BART station and you can easily walk around but also be aware that it is close to Tenderloin so plan accordingly which streets to avoid. I definitely come back here. Only little negative point: the breakfast is a bit too sweet for my taste (only croissants, muffins, sweet donuts...)

Nice enough place, we walked to Fisherman's Wharf area,Chinatown and neighborhood eating establishments. Area is a little sketchy at night. Room needs updating, lots of worn out flooring, molding, wallpaper and carpeting. Overall a decent value, just needs a little TLC.
