We liked everything about the property. It was everything as advertised and conveniently located to the sites and trails of Gros Morne National Park. We found the food and service in all the restaurants was very good. Highly recommend the junior suite on the second floor. Would definately return.

Clean Room & Good Location, But Terrible Check-In

The hotel itself is clean and well-located, which we appreciated. However, our check-in experience was extremely disappointing and overshadowed the rest of our stay. When we arrived, the front desk staff(knew the name) couldn’t locate our reservation in either the hotel system or the Hotels.com admin portal. Instead of calmly resolving the issue, she criticized Hotels.com as unreliable and implied that booking through a discount site was the problem. This was not only unprofessional but also dismissive. Even after I showed her my reservation confirmation, she didn’t try to resolve the issue. Instead, she began arguing about the bed type—claiming I had booked two double beds when my reservation clearly stated two queen beds. I told her that if the reservation couldn’t be found, I would contact Hotels.com . Only then did she recheck the portal and finally locate the reservation, blaming the system. She then offered to “upgrade” me to two queen beds, which was frustrating because that was the room I had already booked. When I declined the “upgrade,” she continued to argue about the bed size. Throughout the process, she never apologized or acknowledged the inconvenience. Due to this poor experience, we chose not to dine at the hotel restaurant and ate elsewhere. Upon checkout, I tried to share my feedback with the same staff member, but she responded angrily—and even whispered a curse as I left. I hope the hotel improves staff training and professionalism at the front desk.

Beautiful hotel in a gorgeous location. We enjoyed watching the beautiful sunsets on our terrace directly across from the harbour. Had dinner the first night at the pub and the second at the lovely upstairs dining room with incredible views of the harbour.

For as busy as it was, with a kitchen party going on in the pub it was very quiet. We checked in before 9 hoping to take takeout to our room from the pub but it closed at 9 due to the kitchen party. There was a cover charge as well Food options were then limited in the town. Hotel room was very clean, beds comfy, but no bar fridge to keep our cooler items cold. Staff very friendly.

First off our reservation had just arrived moments before we arrived at the hotel even though I had made the reservation through Expedia in April. Then when we got to our room there was no fridge, ice bucket, coffee for two people. We used a garbage can for ice since no buckets were available, and had to go to the front desk for our own coffee even though it was supposed to be supplied. The second day was even worse when housekeeping did not come into our room. Once again we had scrounge around for our own supplies. Later we were told that you need to leave a sign on your door if you want housekeeping to clean your room. This was by far the most expensive hotel we stayed in with the worst service. Very disappointing.
