Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication
This stay was a letdown compared to our other rental experiences. Communication with the host during check-in was difficult and unprofessional. The door lock was broken, requiring a lockbox workaround, that really isn't that big of a deal, until we learned it has been this way for months. The home was not clean. While the house had been picked up, and wiped down, it is obvious the house needs a deep professional cleaning, because whoever is doing it, isn't doing it well. The list of items is long, including dirty dishes, leaking faucets, missing essential cleaning items, burnt out bulbs throughout the house, excessive dust build up everywhere. The list is long, including the sheets on the bed in the master, were dirty. Luckily there was a clean extra set. The 'theater room" would have been enjoyable, except the sound system did not work. The outside patio was a bio hazard, and was sadly unusable due to the amount of bird droppings built up over what must be months of neglect.
The location of the property is fantastic, shopping and restaurants within walking distance and a great walking path around the water nearby. The layout of the house is great if you don't mind stairs. We had four adult couples stay comfortably with two bonus rooms to spare. Arcade games for the kids and young at heart.
This property could easily be a 5 star with better management, proper cleaning and maintenance. The poor cleanliness and frustrating check-in made it hard to fully enjoy our stay.
