I had a wonderful stay at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Gatineau. The room was very spacious, comfortable, and exceptionally clean. The front desk staff were friendly and welcoming, which made check-in and the overall experience very pleasant. Breakfast was great, with a good variety of options and everything well organized. One important note is that during my stay there was a large group of children in the hotel (likely for a sports tournament). Unfortunately, they were very loud in the hallways late at night and again early in the morning, running through the halls and common areas. It made the environment quite noisy and disruptive at times. Other than that, it was a lovely stay and I would absolutely recommend this hotel for its comfort, cleanliness, and friendly service. With better supervision of large groups, it would be an excellent experience.

Very clean room, spacious and very friendly staff. Staff is fully bilingual so there are no issues with communication. Breakfast is standard Holiday Inn fare. Parking is free and proximity to highways is good. Really no reason to complain given the rate and the fact that most of the building is either new or newly renovated.

Clean and modern. The bed was very nice and the sheets were softer than what I have at home. Check in was easy and staff was bilingual. The parking is large but at -27 it was a bit farther than you usually would have to walk to the entrance. Love that there’s a microwave in the room, it’s an essential. Only downside was that there were a lot of young children on our floor and they were left to run around the hallway screaming (but we didn’t say anything so I guess it’s our own fault.) Oh! And be careful with the door, they slam shut if you don’t hold it.

The rooms were good, and the breakfast was okay. Unfortunately, the pool was closed, which we needed and expected to be available. The hotel refused to refund our money or transfer us to another nearby IHG hotel. Expedia customer service explained that if you pay through Expedia instead of directly at the property, they can either move you to another hotel or refund the remaining nights. This might be the better and safer option if the service is not as expected and you need to file a complaint.
