Virginia Beach La Quinta

I know this site is going through a renovation but these are things that have nothing to do with that. There were no open outlet near the bed. I had to unplug the clock to plug stuff in. The only open plug was on the other side of the room by the TV. I went to use the microwave and found it unplugged because the light and the fridge was plugged in. That is when i noticed that not only the microwave wasn’t plugged in but also the coffee maker. There were no USB connections in the room either. There was one small trash can in the room and not in the bath. In the dining area the hot water dispenser for tea was just about inoperable. It needs fixed. They kept the butter in a fridge set at 32 degrees which froze it, making it usually unusable as it wouldn’t melt.

Beds were comfortable but the furniture was stained, crappy looking…like stuff I’d see at a garage sale. Bathroom cleanliness wasn’t the best, door was dirty with hair on it, felt like I had to leave shoes on in room.

We had cockroaches in our room. We informed management and they moved us to another room and offered a $30 discount. We switched rooms and eventually started seeing them again. We informed management again. They tried to offer another room. We told them no we left and booked a new hotel. Management was unconcerned about the cockroaches stating that it was that time of season, and we have pets coming in and out of the hotel. If im not mistaken there is no season for cockroaches, they are year round. Also a lot of hotels allow pets in so that not an excuse either. We had to shake our clothes off outside to make sure no bugs tried to hitch a ride. I will never book with this hotel again or any hotels like it.

Problems

The hotel was not clean at all. The manager was willing to give me a refund, however there were no hotels available at that time. The weekend was the funkfest. Upon check in we just changed clothes and left out. We returned at 1 am first night the toilet did not flush, I took a video to show the front office and was told he could change our room, but we had too much stuff and asked if we could move in the morning. I was given a plugger and it did not work.

We usually stay at Quality Inns and this one was not a nice place too stay. They had signs that renovations were going on but it appeared nothing but patch up work. I would not recommend this place

The building needs huge updates, remodeling. Breakfast poor. Not worth the price. Way below normal LaQuinta standards. Mattresses worn out, lumpy. Bathroom sad.

It's like a bad renovation show on hgtv. No electrical outlets by the bed. Outlet in the room was loose on the wall. The bathtub water ran continuously. The staff were nice enough. The breakfast was average, but they didn't restock when things ran out. A homeless camp was set up in the parking lot by the pool. The parking lot is well lit. I booked because it was close to family I was visiting and this trip was done as economical as possible.

Bathroom almost unusable

Using the toilet was an exercise in contortionism. toilet to door had 1/2 inch of a gap to open while you plied yourself against the tub. Some of the floor sections seemed to not be attached and seemed to separated from the base as you walked on it. Was almost entertained by the neighbors kids having races down the hall until 10:30 PM - they were prepping for a Pop Warner football game that weekend!

I would not recommend that anyone stay here. The pictures are very misleading. The bathroom sink was broken, the bathroom door did not close because it hit the toilet, there was dirt and pieces of candy all over the floor, pieces of the actual flooring were popping up, the trim in the bathroom was falling off the wall, and there was something smeared all over the door. It is also very loud. The walls are paper thin. We could hear everything that was going on in the room next to us, including a dog barking nonstop in the morning. There is nowhere to plug your phone in by the bed unless you unplug the lamp. Blankets are very thin, more like a sheet, so I was freezing all night. Ice machine was broken. Ceiling panels had fallen down in the elevator. I paid $200 a night for a hotel that honestly felt like I should have been paying by the hour.
