Rooms adequate for price. Very conveniently located. Had to pay $10 membership fee. Bathrooms pretty scuzzy. Toilets overflowing. Some sinks both only one faucet worked. For one person out all day. Certainly a reasonable choice.

There was standing water in the bathroom and in the halls. One toilet was backed up. Trash was strewn about the halls.

Pillow was dirty room felt dirty as well. The bathrooms are dark and dirty. Had booked for two nights and had to leave after one night of no sleep. Not comfortable or clean. Lost my money.

Staff is nice and coming back late at night I felt welcomed and safe!! I felt safe in my room as well. Giving 4 stars just since the place maybe wasn’t the most sanitary which is a given. Such as stains on sheets, bathrooms not being cleaned, and the major leak that was covered half the bathroom floor lol. I’d say again though!

This is a tiny room “hotel” with shared bathrooms and showers. Only book if you’re on a budget. This is not a typical hotel with amenities. Just a small room to lay your head for the night and bathrooms that smell like Penn Station. This is an honest and irrefutable review.

This was an acceptable budget-friendly option for one night's stay. Ear-plugs/ear-buds are very helpful to block out the old AC noise. I don't understand previous comments that the bathrooms are not secure. Yes, guests use a swipe card to enter the bathroom/shower but once you are in that single room, the door can be locked. No-one else can enter. It was a terrific location. You get what you pay for. This is a budget option, but it was fine for me.

I was unexpectedly charged an additional US $40 even though I had already paid for my full trip back in June. This really shocked me and seriously affected my budget for the four days I spent in NYC. The room wasn’t very clean — the floor and under the bed had visible dirt. However, the staff were very pleasant, especially the security team. I also reported that the safe wasn’t working; the front desk said maintenance would check it, but no one ever came. Thankfully, the room’s key lock system felt secure, so I still felt safe staying there. The bathrooms are shared, and while some were messy at times, it seemed to be because of inconsiderate guests. The cleaning staff were constantly working to keep them tidy. The facilities themselves are good. I’d recommend bringing disinfectant spray and wipes — I brought mine and used them in the room and before/after using the bathrooms and showers. Overall, I gave a low rating mainly because of the unexpected US $40 charge.

i was a member of the gym for a long time and they did a good job keeping it up. The hotel/hostel side, however, is a different thing. Things ripped off walls in shower stall, a large panel next to my bed off of the wall and just propped up against said wall. It I had my drill and a couple screws I'd reattach if for them. But I don't travel with my drill. I want to love this place, but the deferred maintenance is terrible.

Probably the best location and best price for a budget traveller. I felt like I was able to experience New York to its fullest potential, and was able to actually afford it! Modest room and amenities, but so accessible and close to everything (Central Park is literally outside your door). Friendly staff, clean room/bathroom, a diverse mix of guests. Would stay again.
