I don’t normally write reviews, but thought I needed to for this experience. The location of this hotel was amazing. But that’s where it stopped. We had a room that was smaller than a cruise ship room and a bathroom the size of a cruise ship room. We were told we’d get housekeeping every other day. On the second day, we collected all our dirty towels to make it efficient for housekeeping to gather them all up to be taken away and traded in for new ones. When we came back after a day of sightseeing, we had a cookie and a note on our unmade bed and a pile of dirty towels still in our bathroom untouched. Clearly someone had BEEN to our room, but had not done anything with it. We were able to call the front desk and eventually get towels, cups, coffee etc restocked, but it was disappointing and not what we expected. The last thing, and it seems like this is a constant complaint about this hotel, was the elevators. They were inefficient and took forever to come. We were on the 35th floor and one time it took about 20 minutes to get down, the elevator was packed after the first two stops, then the very full elevator stopped at almost every floor from there. It was terrible. Like I said, the location was amazing, right in the heart of Manhattan, but that was the only good thing about this hotel. This was our first time to New York, so we wanted to be close to everything. Next time we come, we will definitely stay in a different area, but definitely not at this hotel.

My experience was frustrating because we had an issue with our room and the front desk staff were very rude because I booked through Expedia. We had a broken pipe that was making a loud gurgling noise as well as a constant loud hum. The mechanic tried to fix it while we were out for the day but was unable to. When we came back it was even louder and it would have been impossible to sleep. I called the front desk and they said they couldn’t move us because the hotel was full and although there are 4 properties in that exact area they refused to move us to a different hotel because we paid through Expedia. They said “we don’t have your money or your credit card, Expedia does”. I tried to explain that they still have my money regardless but they would not acknowledge that. They told me that I can leave the hotel and try to get my money back from Expedia and book a new hotel because “clearly the Hampton Inn is not for you”. I was so angry! Absolutely awful guest service! They refused to take ownership of the problem. The mechanic felt bad for us and was amazing. He came back on his own, determined to do something to help us. He said that he would not be able to sleep with the loud sounds either. His plan was to shove towels up into the ceiling to muffle the sounds but after shutting down the electricity and restarting, the sounds went away. We were so fortunate that he cared enough to help. I will never stay at that hotel again because of how rude the front desk and manager were.

Every staff we met was friendly and helpful. But the room’s air was set to stay at a certain temp, and it was always stuffy and too warm. The pillows were old and scratchy as were the sheets. We appreciated the free breakfast, and the coffee was delicious.

Staying at Times Square

We reserved a room with a king size bed but got a queen size bed instead. We called the desk about this and were told it was a king. We actually measured the width of the mattress to be 60”. We were either lied to, or they don’t know what a king size bed is! The breakfast choices offered were “eh” and for the size of the hotel and number of guests, the seating area was pathetic. Our shower door seriously leaked water under and between the glass panels. We had to place extra towels on the floor so that we wouldn’t slip and fall due to all of the water on the floor. The hotel staff were all friendly and helpful, the room and common spaces were clean and the location was perfect.

Location was convenient. Breakfast was decent. Room was quiet except for the extremely loud squeaky sliding bathroom door. It physically hurt our ears every time we had to close it. Could also hear this problem in other rooms so likely a known issue. We didn’t bother reporting it.

Small rooms for Standard sized king room but my husband and I managed fine. If you could add hooks near the front door I think that would help with coats, clothing storage. Beds are always comfortable and we enjoy a free breakfast. Close to everything we wanted to do.

The hotel was in an excellent location, clean, good service. However, the room itself was way too small for 3 adults. Although, we didn’t spend much time in the room, when we were there, it was uncomfortable and frustrating to simply move around. We were literally crawling over the 2 beds to get to things we needed. Extremely frustrating for an expensive stay.

Room was "upgraded" but it didnt feel that way. Room was so small. A/c didnt feel like it was working. Breakfast was good and plenty. Easy walking to broadway and shopping. Staff was good. No early check-in.

The hotel was overall nice, but the smell of weed permeates New York. Not too pleasant. The breakfast service is fine but does not serve the same food in both locations. Which is annoying. When our lyft finally was able to get to us, the police shut the street down.

The room toiletries body wash was completely empty. I put our trash can out to get it cleaned but ghd staff was not very happy and said she didmt have bags and tjd box i handed to her she judt threw it and feel and just left there. Room temp was too warm had to open wimdow while im room and all night which then .add it super noisy
