The hotel offered a historic feel. Easy to get to. Staff were fantastic! Can’t say enough good things about Jen and crew for assisting us. Walking distance to the French Quarter and easy street car ride to the Garden District.

I would recommend The Lafayette. The staff was wonderful. Good location. Nice room, but it did have that old smell. I think it was just the building. We bought a candle and it really helped. We had other people in our party and the smell did not seem to bother them.We did hear the street car and other noise from outside. A sound machine was provided which helped. It might be a problem for a light sleeper. I read one review that said they didn’t have hairdryers, we had one. They also provide drinking water and there is a in the lobby. The one complaint was the treatment of the valet assistants. They were made to stay outside with no heat when the temperatures were in the 40s.

The room was clean and comfortable. Bianca was incredibly helpful during our stay. The only downside was the water temperature ran a little cold and if you want daily turndown service you likely have to request it.

This was a nice boutique hotel but had some issues that I brought to the attention of the staff our first night . We stayed 3 nights and nothing was done . Leaking taps, water not very hot , outlet where the kettle plugs in was not attached to the wall and could have been a fire hazard. Rooms were not made up at all and when asked about refills on coffee , was told there wasn’t any .

However, the bathroom really was in poor shape - filthy tile grout on the floor, black mold on grout in the tub/shower, and to top it off, only barely warm water in sink/shower. Really needed some deep cleaning (and hot water).
