The food was delicious, they had a wide variety and options. The mixed and grilled vegetables and seafood were so fresh. The bananas had seeds yum! The hotels are always good nothing fancy but nice clean cold air hot water great mattress. The beach was just okay and I may not have enjoyed it because the men walking up trying to make us buy weed was very annoying . Riu get them off your property please.

DO NOT BOOK at RIU Negril, Jamaica – A Horrible Guest Experience I checked into RIU Negril on Monday, August 29. On the morning of October 2, I woke up covered in numerous bug bites, many in linear patterns, which is consistent with bed bugs. As the day progressed, the itching became unbearable and I counted over 25 bites on different parts of my body. I reported the issue to the front desk on Thursday evening, and after some back and forth, I was moved to a different room. I was told an inspection would happen Friday morning. It’s now Sunday, I left the establishment yesterday and still have not heard from RIU nor Expedia. There has been zero follow-up from hotel staff. When I voiced my concerns at the front desk again, I was told to send yet another email to RIU’s complaints department – the third one – and was informed that staff could no longer assist me. Despite clearly showing them the bites and asking for help, I was told nothing could be done until after the inspection, which still hasn’t happened. I even had to request bags to seal my belongings in hopes of preventing bringing the infestation home. I’m currently in severe discomfort, and the hotel has been completely unresponsive and dismissive. The customer service at RIU Negril is appalling, and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone. I stayed at Sandals in June, and the contrast in service and professionalism is night and day. At Sandals, I felt cared for. At RIU Negril, I feel ignored and disrespected

Recentley stayed at Hotel Riu and I have to say, the resort itself was beautiful. The cleanliness was top-notch, the staff were friendly, and the amenities were truly wonderful. From the pools to the bar options, it had all the makings of a great vacation. However, I was really disappointed and frustrated with an issue that put a damper on my stay—especially since one of the affected days was my birthday. The air conditioning in my room broke down for two full days. After being out all day on excursions, I returned to find the floor of my room soaked with water due to the AC leaking. The water stretched from the entryway all the way under the bed, making it impossible to walk around and get ready comfortably.I called reception 2–3 times that evening, requesting someone to come clean up the water. We were told that staff were aware and that someone would be sent to take care of it. Unfortunately, no one ever came. We had to spend the entire night in a hot, wet room with no air conditioning and a puddle of water under the bed. The next morning, the AC was still broken, and the water was still there. It wasn’t until we called again—twice—that someone finally came to address the issue. I understand that we were told the AC problem was happening in “several rooms,” but even if the system couldn’t be fixed right away, the water should have at least been cleaned up in a timely manner. This is a beautiful place to visit and the private pool, especially if you’re located at the end of the beach is the best! Most of the staff were so nice and pleasant except for one of the asst. manager’s or he may be a manger at one of the restaurants by the name of Chad. He’s so disrespectful to his female staff. Hopefully his boss that he was walking around holding hands with 👀 will do something or say something to him to make his approach better. Other than that, I would totally recommend this place. It’s clean, beautiful, right on the beach with a wonderful view of the water, there’s entertainment and plenty of food. I will definitely be going back. Had a great time. Thank you!

We enjoyed the hotel and staff. Service was good. Disppointed that no reservations were available during our stay except the steakhouse so we could only eat at the buffet. We would not have booked through Expedia had we known we could not use our credit. We would have gone thru Costco where we could use our reward. We had a $652 credit that was useless unless we wanted to shell out more money. We did all inclusive to not pay more. We feel the credit is dishonest. To go to get a massage we would have had to pay $138 per person after using a small portion of the credit. That isn't a credit. Going thru Costco next time where we get 2 percent back as well as Costco cash.
