Good stay! Room came with towels and linens. The beds were what you'd expect from a hostel. We stayed during Oktoberfest, so it was a little rowdy. About a 15 min walk to the train station. Not too many food options nearby, but the lobby has vending machines. All day luggage storage is provided.

Busy building! Lots of guests coming and going. The staff will change your sheets unexpectedly so watch out for that. Amusingly there's a pizza vending machine in the parking lot but the hostel pizza is better.

This is my second time staying here and I have to say, a lot has changed and not for better. Rooms are good, we had a private room and it was clean. The noise was manageable, however, at around 4 am a guy kept banging on the door of the dormitories opposite to us because he had "forgotten his key". One of us talked to the guy and told him to go to the reception to fix this issue but the guy wouldn't listen. Which brings me to a bigger concern... How is it that one can enter a building and go into any floor without ever needing a key??. major safety concern here! But the worst thing wasn't this incident with the guy. Upon my arrival, the check- in machines were not working properly. After communicating this to the staff, a very rude guy insisted saying that it was "the way to check in". The Expedia code the one that begins with 7 and the one that the "machine asked for" wasn't working, and the guy handed a "new code" to us... I keep asking myself, if the process doesn't work with the machine, shouldn't the staff then do the process manually?? I'm totally disappointed in the check-in experience at the A&O Hostels. First in Berlin and now here at Laim in Munich. That being said, the guy that processed our check out was totally fine. Since it's more of a lottery regarding professional and competent staff I'm not sure if I would stay here again.

Give it a swerve...

The service is terrible. They are over charging tourists, pure scam. Its 7 euros for 50cl beer, yet they charge 8 and don't tell customers it is a 1 euro deposit for a plastic glass. I stayed at a&o vienna and the staff and service was fantastic....if this is a franchise, your team at Munich Liam are really letting the brand down....extremely disappointing!

On the first day they gave a terrible room which was dirty and next to the door. Very loud in the night bathroom has a smell. But we informed them after the first night and Tanvi the staff was very polite and gave us a better room which was very clean

Title: Disappointing Experience at a&o München Laim We stayed for one night and were quite disappointed. Our twin room wasn’t ready even an hour after the official check-in time. After requesting assistance, we were given another room, but conditions were the same. Confusingly, the elevator had an "out of order" sign but was actually working. As a goodwill gesture, we were offered one coffee in the morning — but when I asked for a second one for my travel companion, they refused. Poor service overall and not a pleasant stay.

Small rooms, hot without a fan windows opened but would open toward the patio downstairs where people smoked and it would all come into the room, but without the open window it was hot in the room. Loud in the halls at night and the door kept rattling whenever someone down the hall would open their door. Kept us ipyat night. Otherwise it was a convenient location for travel

Its a hostel...its affordable. The staff were friendly and helpful but over run by so many guests so you have to be patient. This hostel is next to 12 sifferent train tracks ao its very noisy...no fans or AC so if its hot plan on cold wet towels at night to help you sleep...the bar, the big screen, vending machines and pizza machine were great additions... there were many many teenagers here during our stay that we're very loud but we have our own teenagers and love kids so it was fine for us but if you don't like kids this would be a problem... I would stay here again next time I'm in Munich but I would make sure that my room did not face the train tracks!

I recommend getting the rooms in the front side of the building, it is quieter. The back side of the building are facing the train rails. It’s very noisy and you cannot sleep with close windows because of the heat in the summer. Unfortunately they don’t have AC. But you can borrow a fan from the reception. Otherwise the room is great and nothing else we can complain.

The people you meet are wonderful, but the staff..

I spend 2 out of my 7 nights there. The reception is almost always overcrowded and I waited for 40 minutes to be able to check in. This was due to people also cutting the line with huge tasks that should have waited as well. So after I was standing there with heavy luggage all that time, the lady finally turned her attention towards me, after everyone else has been dealt with already (I was not the last one in line). So turns out if you show up a few days late they cancel your booking, even though you paid for it. This was stated nowhere and if I would have known I wouldn't have waited for checkin. So they assigned me a new bed and told me nothing else. Needless to say, I really felt the warm welcome. So once I arrived in my room I made my bed and everything was great. So I headed to Vienna for 1 day. Coming back my card didn't work anymore and my bed was reassigned. The security was nice enough to guide me to get a new one. All in all, meh. The people I met in my room were wonderful and incredibly kind, but the service, just awful. Shoutout to the security though, you guys are doing a great job
