Whether you're in need of some peace and quiet or a festive occasion, or want to cook, browse flea markets, hike in unspoiled nature, taste local specialties, discover the Alpes Mancelles region, rich in history and culture, or enjoy the indoor space, Le Rocher awaits you for a weekend, a week, or longer...
Recently restored, with their gardens and parking spaces, we are pleased to offer our two gîtes in a former family farmhouse. They can be rented separately or together, depending on your needs. Each gîte has its own outdoor space and private parking.
During the renovation in August 2024, we chose French-made bedding, "hotel palace" quality, and opted for second-hand furniture that creates a warm atmosphere.
Welcome!
The gîte is housed in a former farmhouse 1.5 km from the village of Moulins-le-Carbonnel. It is located on the upper floor of a restored old building surrounded by green spaces: landscaped garden, private terraces, and a pond form the backdrop of the property, spanning a total area of 4,220 m². Other accommodations coexist with the gîte.
This new house (sleeps 6 to 8) can be rented alone or in conjunction with La Bergerie (10 to 15 people). If you are planning family gatherings or parties with friends, it's ideal for getting together while still having plenty of space.
Access via a staircase to the first level of the gîte: a large separate living room with a sofa bed and TV. A bathroom with a sink and walk-in shower, and a toilet. A large fully equipped kitchen and a dining area with an insert fireplace. Stairs lead to the second level, offering three bedrooms. Each bedroom is equipped with two single beds that can be combined to form a queen-size bed. There is a full bathroom and a toilet/sink. Landing with a sofa that can be used as a bed for one person. Access to the cottage is via a private path and a private outdoor area, including a picnic table and umbrellas, deckchairs, and a charcoal BBQ. Beds are made upon arrival and heating is included.
Everything is designed to feel like a cozy cocoon: the common areas are large, and it's also possible to seclude yourself and enjoy a moment of independence with your favorite book!
Mandatory cleaning fee (additional charge): €80. The house is on two levels and is accessible via an outdoor staircase. The front door opens onto a 35 m² living room, whose two windows overlook the village and the hills of the Alpes Mancelles. The welcoming and understated decor includes a natural coconut rug, mirrors, antique photos, and several lamps. On the right, a few steps lead to the 30m² kitchen, which also serves as a living room equipped with a fireplace, a cherry wood table (8 seats), a refrigerator, a sideboard, and a blackboard.
On the 2nd floor, there are three bedrooms with 160x200cm double beds (which can be converted into two 80x200cm beds upon request), a bathroom/toilet, and another toilet/sink. On the landing, there is a 90x200cm bed. All bed bases and mattresses are new (August 2024), French-made and "hotel palace" quality. The mattress protectors are 100% organic cotton with waterproof fleece. The 7cm-thick mattress toppers provide comfort and firmness. The eco-friendly pillows are soft and covered in organic cotton. The duvets adapt to the seasons, both light and thick, and are eco-friendly with their organic cotton cover. The fitted sheets, duvet covers, and pillowcases are made of organic cotton.
Each room has a storage closet, nightstands, bedside lamps, a chair, and one or two windows.
One room has a Montessori children's bed.
Check-in is from 4 [hidden]; a key is provided for the front door.
