The food options were great, and staff was quick with drinks but not super friendly to all patrons. I also did not have any options to use the $654 resort credit that was offered with my booking. Every time I asked about booking it, it was told I couldn't use it for that (spa, gift shop, tours, etc.). Not sure what it can actually be spent on.

Unlike other all-inclusive resorts I’ve stayed this Riu Ocho Rios was truly all-inclusive from the virtually round-the-clock buffet to the bottles of rum and other adult beverages in the room to the bottle of champagne we ordered in the Italian dining room. Also unlike other all-inclusive resorts where the staff consistently has their hand out, this staff seemed uncomfortable if not offended when offered a tip. Would definitely stay again

The staff was top tier. When I say everyone was so welcoming I mean everyone. The food was amazing I honestly can’t think of one thing that wasn’t delicious. The live entertainment was so much fun and so many options in activities to do throughout the day. Will be back.

Awesome trip..despite some hiccups

It was great despite a few hiccups at check in. I had booked a stay to inc a 12yr child but it seems something went wrong as reservation had under 1 yr and had to pay extra. We were given an upgrade although the same type of room. Due to delay with room, we were given another less impressive one (dingy with rusty safe) but evetually reverted to the original assigned. Beautiful view. Comfortable space. Toilet needs an extractor. Jewellery even wedding ring is not allowed on slides -changed since our last visit. That challenge prevented my husband from enjoying waterpark as he was unable to remove. Pool bar staff needs to treat locals as tourists just like they do the overseas guests. Sit down restaurant service was excellent. Best of the entertainment package was Friday night.. Thanks Team Riu. Overall, a great experience. I am sure to return. If not Ocho Rios, another location.

comparing to my 1st visit there in 2017, this trip was a bit disappointing - overall quality of service went down the hill. had to wait half a day for them to open broken safe with my items inside (had to make at least 3 calls), the same with broken toilet - took them 3 attempts to fix it, delays with refilling soap. phone in my room did not work properly, they said they would replace it, never did.... when phone worked, i could never get anyone form reception to answer the phone (ext #9). food selection was much worse than first time, drinks are ok. except for entertainment team, workers were less friendly than last time (probably they are paid less and simply dont care), people at reception were especially lackadaisical. clientele of this place is much different than last time - seems they started catering more to loud, dirty hood rats... overall quality of this place went down the hill, you can see they are cutting corners anywhere they can. will not be coming back there for sure!!!!!!!!!!
