Female traveling alone midweek. The room was wonderful, bed very comfortable, staff very friendly and helpful. Arrived late at night. The extra security at hotel made me wonder. The men hanging out in parking lot was also a little concerning.

Convenient but uncomfortable

We stayed 1 night after booking online and looking at the pictures and location. Unfortunately, This is the type of location where there is a barrier between the check-in desk and the visitor. That was reinforced when we returned around 9 pm to get to bed. There were interesting "visitors" in the parking lot smoking and hanging around. None of the security doors worked, they were all broken and easily opened and provided no security. There was no "extra" door lock besides the deadbolt, so we used some items in the room to brace the door a an internal "lock". We did not take advantage of the cooked breakfast options because we questioned the cleanliness. We did choose to take a couple of the separately packaged items that were available, and we got coffee elsewhere. +++

Booked a four night stay to move our son into the dorms at UW Madison. I was not expecting much as I knew this was an old property which used to be a Roadway Inn. The room was clean but very dated and furniture was pretty worn. My main gripe was the friendliness and customer focus on the part of the staff. They rarely smile or greet you as you come and go each day. I'm not asking for a 5 star hotel customer service experience, but a simple smile and "hello" is not too much to ask for. When in the area, I usually stay at the Quality Inn in Lodi Wisconsin, but chose this hotel due to it's proximity to UW Madison. Same chain, but a stark difference in the guest experience!

Affordable and comfortable enough

Great affordable option to be close to the city. We needed to be close to the hospital for a family emergency and it worked perfectly. Also accepts dogs which was necessary for us while we scrambled to find dog boarding/day care after we arrived.
