Quiet yet Hampton-rich vibes. Think summer-lake cottage meets wine-by-the-fire-pit luxury. The place feels tucked away and peaceful but with posh touches and elegant eateries. Totally worth the splurge. My wife took 100 pictures before we even unpacked, and honestly, I get it.

The property is absolutely gorgeous, and the rooms are very clean. It is 2 miles from town, which makes itvery peaceful. The only drawback is the resort charges guests a fee to take the carriage in to and back from town. The only complementary tides are arrival and depature. Given the daily resort fee and distance to town, I would expect the carriage to be free. It is a lovely place to stay, just be prepared to either walk or pay to take the carriage ride.

The facility and property were amazing…First Class! However, the transportation to and from Stonecliffe to downtown was in-frequent and sometimes hard to get. It’s a 30+min carriage ride and we often had to wait 20-30 mins to get a carriage.

Not a very relaxing 40th anniversary stay

Beautiful grounds and lovely room. Nice employees. Had bad service at breakfast and mediocre service for casual dinner. We didn’t like the constant “yaht rock” music played loudly from speakers everywhere we went. Quite loud and obnoxious after hours and hours of it. Pool area was difficult to relax and read with music blaring and no way to regulate what played or volume. Room was noisy for a long time at night from loud water pump - maybe adjoining room’s jet tub running ? Cleaning staff noisy early in morning in hallways. Staff didn’t seem concerned. We mentioned that we didn’t find our stay as restful as we hoped, when we checked out and staff barely reacted and said that she hoped we’d be back. It surprised us for a very expensive resort. Our first time staying here, and probably our last. But such a lovely place, it makes us sad.

Far from town but with beautiful grounds

Beautiful hotel. Poor soundproofing - woken up several times by guest walking around or dropping items on the floor above. The Straits restaurant was mediocre and overpriced - definitely recommend the Pizza at the other restaurant. Gym was amazing. Kids’ pool was cold. Far from town - carriage rides were expensive, so not the best hotel if you aren’t into walking. Super fun lawn games and fire pits with free s’mores kits.
