Lynchburg, Tennessee is known as the home of the Jack Daniels Distillery. Located in the south central part of the state, it has also been home to such diverse people as Davy Crockett and Little Richard. This is a small town and, as such, has a slower pace. It is also surrounded by rolling hills and family farms. Hotel visitors will find that their choices are charming bed and breakfasts and quaint country inns, all close to the distillery.
This small town may not host any big conventions but Miss Mary Bobo's Boarding House Restaurant does have a conference room suitable for business meetings.
Restaurants here are small and serve traditional southern home cooking. Try the Iron Kettle Restaurant, locally owned and easy to find as it is painted bright pink.
The Jack Daniels Distillery is the real focus of the town. Over 250,000 visitors make the trek each year to tour the facility. Unfortunately, it is located in a dry county and so there are no samples.
The focus is still on Jack Daniels, so visitors will find little keepsakes in every little store. Antiques abound as well as small gifts shops. For a real treat, stop by the Dry County General Store and get a piece of Moonshine Fudge Cake.
Baseball is the biggest sport in Lynchburg with Moore County High School the main team that everyone roots for. The Tennessee Titans are the closest pro football team.
