The location of the property was ideal. Close to Maho beach. The property was well kept, however the food was a bit too monotonous. Pretty the same thing rotated for the different nights. Some staff were helpful and pleasant but most of them were just "there". Some of them expressed their displeasure of working there.

The overall resort and staff was wonderful. My husband and I enjoyed our stay. The only reason I did not give 5 stars on everything was because when I turned the AC to fan mode the ceiling started to leak, they did send maintenance to fix and clean it up. It happened the next day and no one ever came. The AC did work though. Another thing, we stayed on the adult side but the family side was way more active with more entertainment that should have been on the adult side. The adult side was more quiet and a little boring. The family side had a casino in their lobby and the adult side didn't. How's that possible? lol, The family side lobby had AC and the adult side didn't. The family side had great music and the adult side was quiet. It's like the adult side was made for you to go to sleep. lol They did have a little live singing in one of the pools for about 2 hours if you caught it but you would think the all adult side would be fun, fun, fun. My husband and I enjoyed our honeymoon but we have been to livelier adult resorts. The staff and food were amazing!!!

Our stay at Sonesta Ocean Point was excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was spotless and confortable. The food was great but specially al Blue restaurant where in particular we want to thank some special people who work there and they are Jenneal, Schneider and Sidia they made us feel welcome and happy. If there is something we need to said is the hotel does not has a doctor nor nurse service, I had a cut in one foot and my wife has to run to the city to buy supplies to to cure it.

Negatives: 1. They said they would decorate the room for our honeymoon, but did not. 2. The bed in our room had been slept in before. There was a significant amount of hair, glitter, sand, makeup, and other debris all over the fitted bed sheet. 3. There was no running water (shower/taps/toilet) in the hotel room for 3-4 hours during one day of our stay. Luckily it only happened once during our stay. 4. I slipped and nearly fell on a significant amount of water lying on the floor in the entrance of our room. It was water from them cleaning the floors in the hallway that morning. It leaked under our door. The housekeepers were great when we asked for towels to clean it up. The shower system is also a slipping hazard, as there's no full door so all the water goes all over the bathroom floor. Be cautious! Positives: 1. The adult side restaurants are awesome (especially Azul). It was beautiful, tasty, and the staff were wonderful. 2. Almost all of the staff were friendly and kind. 3. Minus the dirty bedsheets, I found the place relatively clean. 4. It's a convenient location with some beautiful views. 5. The staff that came by daily to see if we needed extra towels or water was much appreciated. I agree with other reviews: the drinks were a hit or miss. Sometimes they didn't even taste like they had alcohol and other times they were strong. Overall, we would return to St. Martin, but we would not return to Sonesta Ocean Point. It wasn't awful, but it also wasn't great.
