St. Martin (French) or St. Maarten (Dutch) is an island in the northwest Caribbean that is shared between the French and the Dutch, with no formal border. If you enjoy spectacular beaches, lovely food, good weather and a vibrant nightlife then St. Martin travels are for you. On St. Martin vacations, you will find a blend of three cultures, the Dutch, the French, and the native culture rolled into one. As with most of the Caribbean, the island is a tourist hotspot and as such offers world class resorts, an abundance of water activities, and of course the traditional Caribbean festivals.
There is very little variation in weather on St. Martin, with the weather generally being warm throughout the year. The dry season, from December to May is probably the best time to visit the islands, and is considered the peak season. Crowds in general are larger and prices tend to rise during this period, so for travelers on a budget, the summer may be a better option, as prices tend not to be as high and there is more elbowroom. The main consideration when planning St. Martin travel is to avoid tropical storms and hurricanes. June to November is considered hurricane season, with September regarded as the most likely hurricane time.
