Great place to bring your family. Clean and lots to do. Riu Party was amazing. Water park is a great feature. Food was good. Beach front was beautiful. Kind of annoying having 100 people out there trying to sell you something but overall would highly recommend. Will be coming back in the future for sure.

Let me start by saying my stay at RIU Santa Fe was, overall, a wonderful experience. The staff were excellent - friendly, professional, and eager to help. The pool bars and entertainment were exactly what we were looking for, and the resort atmosphere made for some great memories. The food was decent - not exceptional, but about what you'd expect for the price point. Unfortunately, those good memories have been overshadowed by how RIU Hotels and Expedia handled a major issue with my reservation. Upon check-in, I was informed that the Suite I had prepaid for through Expedia was unavailable. I had no alternatives, no ability to rebook elsewhere, and no clear explanation for why the room wasn't honored. I was downgraded to a standard room - with front dest staff assuring me I'd receive a refund for the price difference through Expedia. They couldn't tell me the exact amount, but I was told not to worry. It's now been nearly two weeks. I've reached out to the hotel multiple times with no response. I escalated the issue through Expedia, and today I was informed that the hotel denied the refund. No explanation. No resolution. Just silence from RIU and a dead end through Expedia's "customer service." Here is my advice: (1) If you choose this resort, only book the base room. the real value of the property is in the amenities, not the rooms. (2) Do not rely on RIU or Expedia to make things right if something goes wrong.

The room was not clean. There was hair in between the sheets in the bed and stains on the curtains. The bed was very hard making it hard for me to sleep. There were bugs in the food from the breakfast buffet. Most of the restaurants were buffets which is not my preference. I booked the resort to celebrate my birthday and the concierge gave me a hard time about blowing up 10 balloons I brought. Other hotels and resorts I’ve stayed at for my birthday, typically have no problem doing that and try to do something small to make my birthday special. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel or stay again.

Our room had a big bathroom ceiling leak, debris from it was all over floor. We were downgraded to a room next to the laundry room, we asked to be moved again. Safe did not open, no hot water, iron did not work, Exchange gave us incorrect amount. Management did NOTHING to compensate us for all the problems we had. Not impressed.
