I stayed at Hilton Los Angeles/Universal City for three nights over Labor Day weekend. The location was excellent—just a 10-minute walk to Universal Studios with a convenient shuttle option. Staff at the front desk and valet were professional, and our room was clean, comfortable, and as pictured, with a nice pool view. A minor maintenance issue with the sink was handled quickly by management. The pool area, however, was less positive. While enjoying the pool with my family, another guest removed one of our chairs and later complained about our small speaker, even though the volume was low. The manager politely asked us to turn it off but could not show any written rule prohibiting it. Unfortunately, the same guest directed racist remarks toward my family. Several nearby guests supported us, and the manager ultimately confirmed our speaker was acceptable at a reasonable volume. While I appreciate the manager’s calm handling, I was disappointed that the situation wasn’t addressed more transparently from the start. Additionally, the pool bar was severely understaffed for a hot holiday weekend, leading to long waits despite the staff’s best efforts. Overall, the hotel met expectations with its location, cleanliness, and service, but clearer communication of policies and better poolside staffing would greatly improve the guest experience.

After traveling around and seeing where the other hotels I considered staying were located, I was very glad I had chosen this hotel!! The staff were very nice, the hotel was clean and bright, the pool was clean and fun and opened until midnight. The bad thing was, my room was very cold; controls did not work and the fan blew on high for the 5-day stay. I reported it twice and was told someone would come, but no one ever came. The parking was much too expensive in my opinion! Overall though, very nice and I would stay here again!
