This is actually my third stay at Bluestem, and per usual, it was pleasant and enjoyable. The rooms are clean and the staff are friendly. It is by no means a luxury hotel, but it is definitely good quality at its price point. The only critique I had was that the beds are not particularly comfortable (soft) to my liking, but it was not horrible and uncomfortable; I know some prefer a firm mattress. I will return and recommend this location to anyone planning an LA trip, as it can be difficult to find good lodging for that price point in the city. Thanks, Bluestem, for your hospitality.

This was our first and definitely our last stay at this hotel. The only reason we chose it was because they allowed check-in after midnight. When we arrived and entered our room, we immediately found ants on the bed both alive and dead. My husband went to the front desk to report the issue, and they offered us another room. However, the new room was smaller, and they claimed it was the only one available. When we went to that second room, we discovered ants again this time in the shower. As we checked the rest of the room, we also found a spiderweb with a live spider. My husband had to go back to the front desk once more, but no one was there for over 15 minutes. When someone finally returned, he explained the issue again. They seemed surprised and offered to spray the room, saying there were no other rooms available. After my husband requested a refund due to the room being unclean and infested, they suddenly found another room for us. We moved there, but by that point, the experience had already been extremely disappointing. In short, I will never stay here again. I was planning to return during the holidays, but after this experience, that will not happen. The service was poor, the rooms smelled musty, and overall cleanliness was unacceptable. We paid $700 for just three nights, and it was absolutely not worth the price. You can see in the photos that the conditions were far below what anyone should expect for that rate. Not as impressed as the website let us to believe. A couple little pet peeves. We will put in room 101 which was literally right next to the gym and the room smelled like a gym. It smelled musty all night. The pillows. For some unknown reason, they want to use these tiny little pillows and put about eight of them on your bed. That’s great that they give you so many but give me a regular size pillow, please. They have a weird little cocktail machine in the lobby that the hotel desk clerk makes a cocktail for you with. There were four choices of flavors but they were all pretty much just straight liquor in a cup. Not really worth 11 or $12 apiece. Finally, and totally not their fault, but the power went out for a couple hours so we were left stranded in the dark. Fortunately power was on just a few blocks up so we walked up to Subway and hung out there. Again, the power wasn’t their fault, but just sort of added to an already somewhat disappointing day. I doubt I’d go back.

First off I thought the place was a hotel but clearly was a motel All the doors are on the outside. Or else never would have stayed here. Wife that there was breakfast included that's not true. You can pay for it. $210 a night for a renovated studio 6 motel 6. Walls are paper thin sounds like dinosaurs are upstairs. I don't even think our bed sheets were changed bcause they had stains on them. I won't stay here again. Also the TV so old that all the people on it were purple so I couldn't even watch that at night. The front desk just says oh I'm so sorry about that.

Lovely stay

Beautiful modern hotel! We loved how clean and modern the room was and we also loved the private gated parking. We really enjoyed the outdoor courtyard/seating area. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
