"The room I had was very clean and had a beautiful view from the 25th floor. The service at the Hotel Nikko Niigata was excellent – as was the buffet breakfast. I found the bed to be extremely hard – and uncomfortable from what I’m used to in North America and Australia – but hard beds seem to be common in Japan [in South Korea they tend to be even harder] and when I mentioned this to the front desk they tried to remedy the situation. The hotel is not really walking distance from the JR Station Niigata (where the Shinkansen from Tokyo arrives) but the cab fare in only $7.00-8.00 or one can take a bus at the bus station just outside the JR Station [the bus for Toki Messa where the Nikko Hotel is located currently leaves from location 3]. Overall, I’d enthusiastically recommend this hotel."
