I went there this weekend to celebrate my birthday. Great place, well kept, nice service, rooms are pretty and clean. The pools are nice. Loved the resort. Hope to come back soon. They had a room for me right away. Check in was very pleasant. The paddle boarding, and canoes are free with the stay. I enjoyed my stay so much! Coming back home very relaxed! The only things I didn’t like were: my room didn’t have a shower cap or a shower mat, the fire pits were not on at night. Other than that everything was superb! They sent me a msg to see if everything was great and asked if I needed anything to let them know. I will be coming back!

I rarely post reviews and almost never post a suboptimal review. However, I want to share my experience with other visitors. Although I could list a litany of issues, I will be relatively brief Our room cost over $600/night. We arrived, no water was left for us and no place in the immediate vicinity. Eventually received some bottles. Unbeknownst to us, the refrigerator was not working. Our Lobster we placed in there upon arrival. Lost. Went to ice machine. Not working. Our front door, despite being locked, spontaneously flew open twice, frightening my girlfriend immensely. The coup d gras. The plumbing was abysmal. Our toilet was able to muster an anemic flush. Would not clear the bowl. A very embarrassing and, frankly, disgusting situation that remained for the entirety of our stay Finally, check in time is 4:00P and check out times 11:00A. My girlfriend and I arrived around 4:30. Got situated and was ready to explore. No chance. Most every activity, including the pools and the game room closed at 6 P. Wasted day. The following morning asked for a late checkout, met with an arrogant refusal When I spoke to a representative from guest services, Natalia?, her response was flippant, insincere and without a single assumption of responsibility. A very poor reflection on the overall staff. Wrote far too much. Have a magnificent day

This was my first visit to Cheeca Lodge but many prior visits to Islamorada. I was disappointed. The maid did not show up the 1st day. There were dirty dishes on the walkway for 3 days (I finally called). The ice machine was broken in my building (3 days to repair) and the bathroom faucet handle came off! Staff at check-in did not offer the wi-fi info upon arrival, and I had to call back for it. Upon exiting, no feedback was requested like "How was your stay?" Dirty bar glasses left out for 2 days at the beach area lights. Just not a well run hotel.

Overall, it was an excellent experience. My sole issue was with the food at the restaurant in the lodge. I can’t fully describe all the issues, but I would suggest eating elsewhere as the options are many and of high-quality. If you book a snorkeling tour, I strongly suggest asking about the clarity of the water before you get them any money.
