About this property
Dimora Pieri - Apartment Pitti with living room , historic building in the old center with elevator
The PITTI apartment, located on the third floor (access with elevator) ), very spacious and bright, enjoys abundant natural light thanks to the large windows, consists of 2 large bedrooms ( 1 bedroom with 1 double bed 1 single bed, 1 bedroom with 1 double bed, or single beds on request), a spacious living room with double sofa bed ( 140cm, sofa openings on request, extra charge), a fully equipped kitchen (with fridge with freezer cell, microwave oven, gas stove, electric oven, moka coffee machine (espresso machine on request), kettle, toaster, pots and pans, extendable table), a small private terrace with table and two chairs overlooking the inner courtyard and 2 bathrooms with shower, courtesy welcome kit, hairdryer and towelryer set. The apartment is equipped with LED TV (digital terrestrial and satellite channels in clear), Wi-Fi system (internet connection also via cable), heating, air conditioning, telephone and safe. To reach the upper floors the structure retains a beautiful stone staircase dating back to the thirties of the twentieth century, equipped with an original cast iron railing and a beautiful marble flounce.
The apartment is located in the ancient walls of the city, in one of the oldest and most characteristic districts of Florence "San Frediano", Oltrarno, the heart of the Florentine craftsmanship.
Florence Oltrarno, that area between Borgo San Frediano and Borgo Santo Spirito, a treasure trove of the most authentic and genuine Florence, is an area full full of places of interest, picturesque squares and alleys, old artisan workshops and small typical cafés.
Shops that boast customers from all over the world and that tell about the tradition of ceramics, art, woodcarving and decoration. Many artisans still live here. Goldsmith's workshops, streets famous for antiques, such as Via Maggio or places of art where the ancient technique of engraving, metalworking or the fifteenth-century technique of gilding furniture and frames is practiced in the splendid Santo Spirito.
In the immediate vicinity you will find also a pharmacy, a bar restaurant, two small supermarkets and a laundromat, as well as many other shops of all kinds, many trattoria and typical restaurants within easy walking distance. Moreover, in S. Spirito Square you can find every morning a local market and many restaurants for every budget, bars and wine bars even outdoors that in the evening become an important meeting point and make this area of Florence one of the most lively, animated and typical one!
In just a few minutes walking you can reach and visit the most important and evocative monuments of Florence as the S.Spirito Church, Basilica of Santa Maria Novella, Carmine Church with the Brancacci Chapel, Church of Santa Felicita, Church of San Miniato al Monte, Villa/ Museo Bardini, Pitti Palace, Ponte Vecchio, Strozzi Palace, Uffizi Gallery, Palazzo Vecchio, Piazza della Signoria, the Cathedral, Accademia Gallery etc.
Weather for a holiday or a business trip, the Oltrarno area is the ideal solution for experiencing Florence in peace.
Florence Oltrarno is the ideal neighbourhood for those in search of the true Florentine atmosphere.
Aside from its exceptional heritage of art, Florence can be enjoyed in so many ways: promenading along the enchanting riverbanks at sunset, entering the bohemian alleys of the Oltrarno, or getting lost in the narrow streets of San Niccolò, where walking by the old city walls will leave you feeling as though you have been magically transported into another era.
The Oltrarno area of Florence is the city of the people and ancient crafts, the popular one, of tradition, of the dust that rests lightly in the artisans' workshops, the one that releases creativity and colour, quality and uniqueness.
And it is also one of the most evocative, passionate and multifaceted corners of the Tuscan capital. Don't miss that corner beyond the silver river, once considered "the poor neighborhood" of the glorious ‘’Signoria’’, today it is one of the places that exude history more than any other and that tell of the genius of the past, to be found again today, at your fingertips.
Florence is still there to be discovered in the maze of streets where every morning the artisans pull up the shutters and get to work.
Discovering Florence means following in the footsteps of Dante Alighieri and ending up in front of his house. But in this city, in the space of only a few centuries, there also lived Cimabue and Giotto, fathers of Italian painting; Arnolfo and Andrea Pisano, who rewrote the rules of architecture and sculpture; and Brunelleschi, Donatello and Masaccio, who really kicked off the Renaissance. That's before we mention Ghiberti and the Della Robbia family, Filippo Lippi and Beato Angelico, Botticelli and Paolo Uccello, and universally renowned geniuses like Leonardo and Michelangelo.
When you are eventually tire of the bustling alleyways, leave the centre behind you and, after an invigorating ascent to either Piazzale Michelangelo or San Miniato al Monte, let your eyes feast upon one of the most evocative views in Italy.
Don’t underestimate the walk (comfortable shoes) along the Costa San Georgio street ( the great scientist Galileo Galilei lived at number 19) that brings you to Forte Belvedere, a great spot to appreciate Florence from above (usually open from May to the beginning of October). While hiking up Costa San Giorgio, you'll also come across the beautiful Villa Bardini, home to both temporary and permanent art exhibitions and a beautiful garden with postcard views of Florence.
Dimora Pieri with its 7 apartments completely renovated preserving the original architecture and finishes with the aim of making you feel at home, is an invitation to discouver Florece, a stunning city where you will lose yourself in the art, history, fashion and traditions of Tuscany.
The city of the lily is a treasure trove of artistic treasures and the centre of a fervent vitality.
The apartment is a 15-minute walk from the central station of Santa Maria Novella. For those who want to use public transport, from the central station for the stop next to the ‘’ Stazione Pensilina’’ pharmacy, BUS n° 11 (with the Campuccio stop, about 7-10 minutes by bus).
The Florence airport offers a very convenient shuttle service (Vola in Bus) or by tram T2 to the Santa Maria Novella station. As an alternative, take a taxi that will have you at the entrance of our Dimora in about 20 minutes.
For those coming by car the nearest motorway exit is A1 exit Impruneta.
