Room comfort was poor. The room was too hot all night with no air movement, and the wall controller did not make any difference. Reception said the hotel controls temperature centrally, so guests have limited or no control in their rooms. If so, why is there a control unit on the wall if it does nothing? Guests should have a clear, working way to control temperature, or at least get proper air movement overnight. No practical solution was offered on the night, so sleep was disrupted. Location is good, but basic comfort needs sorting.

The hotel is ideally situation to be central base for a weekend exploring Edinburgh. In every direction is an attraction or site to see and just minutes from the train station. The room was a lovely big size with a speaking bed. Also nice spacious bathroom. Our room was perfectly clean and tended to daily. One thing missing was a proper wardrobe, the room just had 2 small rails big enough for a couple of items. It was a shame there wasn’t one because there is definitely space in the room for one. It’s not the first time we’ve stayed in a Motel One and we will most likely stay in this chain again.

Chef's Kiss! I wish I had found this place earlier. Friendly, helpful staff who addressed our queries/concerns quickly and a great explanation (nothing to do with Motel One). Breakfast was fantastic. Rooms are comfortable and cosy. A great place to relax and have a cocktail in the evening. Totally recommend

Room was very small for the price and walls were sloped making it even smaller. You have to park your car a ten minute walk away. I didn’t find this out until the day before. Would not stay here again.
