"The "Spotted Deer Hideaway" is indeed hidden away, situated at the end of an obscure gravel road and perched on a hillside overlooking the Salish Sea (Puget Sound). If you're looking for peaceful seclusion and natural beauty, you've come to the right place. However, be aware that this seclusion comes at the cost of convenience: the nearest legitimate grocery store, and most restaurants, are a half hour's drive away. There were a few maintenance issues we encountered upon arrival, but these were swiftly handled by Sherri the property manager, who was friendly and responsive. The lack of proximity to restaurants makes the kitchen all the more important, which made the the lack of high quality kitchenware (e.g., cheap pots and pans) a bit more frustrating than it might otherwise have been. On the other hand, the kitchen is spacious, clean, and has a nice layout. Overall, some little imperfections, but a great place."

"This is a lovely home with a beautiful view. The owner was easy to reach and helpful. The outside lounge area is fabulous and heated/covered so can use anytime. It is very peaceful on this side of the island but a bit farther from town if you want easy access to restaurants and groceries. We had a very relaxing getaway."

"Lovely view in a very peaceful location. Kitchen is fully stocked and all appliances are high end. Beds are comfortable and bathroom is nice. Home is updated but it is an older home, so those sensitive to humidity might not feel comfortable. Convenient to Doe Bay, Buck Bay and Moran and about 20 minutes drive to Eastsound. No beach access and aside from the gravel roads, no real walking area. Lots of deer!"
