Worth it!

This place is worth the money. Stayed for 1 night for my wife’s birthday, and was shocked by how big and comfortable the room is. Was absolutely surprised to see a massive tub in the room. The bed is the most comfortable Ive ever experienced with a hotel. Would definitely stay here again!

If you look for being part of downtown Detroit craziness, I.e, drag racing, deafening rap music from loud engine cars, this hotel is for you: a sleepless night is guaranteed! If you have a business meeting the next morning and need to be rested, you are at the wrong place, unless you want to take a heavy sleeping pill and have a hangover the next morning. We arrived exhausted and needed sleep, but due to the intolerable noise, we couldn’t find any before 3 AM!!! And at 7 AM there was a fire alarm asking us to go downstairs through the stairwell. Paying $800 for no rest is unacceptable.

We visit Detroit 4-5 times a year. At times Shinola can be expensive (Lions weekend etc), but this has become (even as a Marriott Platinum member), out place to go when in Detroit. The service, quality rooms, speakeasy for a late cocktail, and proximity to sports and restaurants like The London Chophouse, make this a fantastic place to stay. Highly recommend.

Great hotel but maintenance didn’t follow up

We put in a request for some lights to be fixed in the room but it never happened. Kinda disappointing for this quality hotel- everything else was super great.

Gorgeous hotel

Excellent hotel. Gorgeously appointed. Lovely room. Had a bit of trouble getting service. One day they didn’t clean our room despite saying they were sending someone. Another time our request for shampoo/conditioner (which weren’t stocked when we arrived to the room) never arrived. Otherwise lovely.

Loved the shinola!

Staff was very accommodating! Upon arrival Mark helped us out a lot with getting our bags to our room and really genuine service. Great guy made you feel welcome! AJ helped with valet and did an awesome job also helping us load the car and making sure we were all set! Room was clean, cozy and just the perfect vibe for our stay!
