"Our deluxe room very nice. Large room and bathroom with everything we needed. As advertised there is no TV, cell service or A/C. Stayed 3 days in May that were cool during nights so just opened windows. Hotel itself, despite the age was very nice. Loved the historical aspect to it and the views on the lake were wonderful. When we were there in May, the small coffee shop was open as well as the restaurant in the evening. At this point, the hotel was open for two weeks, but we noticed during our stay they were routinely out of different types of bakery juice, etc. Restaurant food was not cheap. We had two dinners in the restaurant both averaged $140 for two of us. The food was good, but not great.Yes, that included a bottle of wine. Breakfast was a buffet adults were $23 a person. That seems to be standard in all hotels in Yellowstone Park. It was easy enough for us to opt out of breakfast grab coffee and eat protein bars and fruit that we had purchased instead of spending money every morning for breakfast. Would we stay there again? Yes! For us, it was our base camp for visiting the park and driving out to Cody without having to move twice which I see suggested on some websites. No matter how you stay in the park or out of the park, you will have to backtrack over some of the grand loop at some point. Yellowstone hotels and lodges open May through mid June. Just be aware that if you stay at the YS lake hotel your dining options are limited until mid June."
